Introduction to the recreation area

Mt. Xue Trailhead Service Station is on platform on the hillside above Wuling campground and is the entry-exit service station for the Mt.Xue climbing route. To enter the Mt. Xue area a mountain entry and conservation area entry permit (the application webpage: https://apply.spnp.gov.tw/) must be obtained in advance and be examined at the service station.

The view from the wooden plank platform in front of the service station is excellent and offers views of the whole Qijiawan river valley and Mt. Luoyewei mountain ridge and, when the sky is clear, the first and second northern sections (Nanhuda mountain and Zhongyangjian/Wuming and Lingming mountain) of the central mountain ridge can be seen in full, making this spot one of the best scenery viewing spots in the Wuling area. The road to the service station is narrow and passing oncoming vehicles not easy so it is suggested that visitors walk there or take the park shuttle bus.
